Child and Community Centre Opens
The First Steps Count Child and Community Centre has been opened to the Taree community.
AWF were asked to contribute to the original master planning for the project in 2014. It was one of our first projects in Australia.
Thie building was designed by Carline Pidcock and Austin McFarland Architects in response to 'Living Building Challenge's' (LBC) environmentally friendly and net zero energy cost requirements. Construction was by W&G Duber.
First Steps Count Child and Community Centre is a community hub for children aged 0-12 and their families, providing a safe, welcoming place to connect and access supports and programs closer to home. The Centre brings together government and non-government service providers to improve community access to services that help children and families to thrive.
