Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre (CNLC) have launched their new native edible garden with a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri man Thane Garvey and a ribbon-cutting by Mayor of the City of Yarra, Councillor Sophie Wade.

AWF is extremely proud to be involved in this garden and our relationship with CNLC, going back to 2018, when AWF worked with Network Partners SJB and Meinhardt Bonacci to review their existing building conditions and explore ways to upgrade and expand the site for future use.  

When CNLC contacted AWF again in 2020 to talk about the possibility of developing an indigenous garden in partnership with Gunditjmara designer Catlin Harradine and the Wirundjeri Tribal Council, we knew it was a perfect fit for AWF Network Partner Tract Consultants.

Tract designed a garden that is beautiful and productive, that can be accessed with ease by people with different abilities, and that has something to teach us about First Nations culture and technology.  We look forward to seeing this garden grow.
