Bholu, our partner in the Anganwadi project in Ahmedabad, India, has won a Telstra Business Award for social responsibility.

Bholu Pty Ltd is a Winner!

Bholu Pty Ltd (Surry Hills) is announced as Winner of the Sensis Social Responsibility Award (for demonstrated leadership and contribution by a business to the environment, people, education or the community)

Bholu Pty Ltd was a finalist in this years Telstra NSW Business Awards in 2 categories Palm Micro-Business ( 5 employees or less) and a brand new category Sensis Social Responsibility Award. Bholu Pty Ltd will now compete against other state and territory winners in a national final in Sydney, 10th October 2008.

Bholu Pty Ltd produces high quality home wares which are designed in Australia and brought to life by women artisans in India. Using traditional techniques, all the products are handmade and hand embroidered by women in disadvantaged communities in India. Bholu Pty Ltd promotes Fair Trade as its main business philosophy and is dedicated to creating beautiful products through offering sustainable employment, independence and opportunity to underprivileged Indian women.

Founded in 2005, the Climate Neutral business also donates part proceeds to education facilities and other programs for underprivileged children in India.
